Best Windows Laptops Under 500
I have made this list in the ascending order means the laptop at the most bottom position is the best one.
Number 5 it’s the ASUS C302CA. The ASUS C302CA maybe a Chromebook, however, it does plenty of things pretty well and all under the $500 price. It has an excellent screen, attractive design, amazing tablet mode and is comfortable and convenient to use in both modes.
It’s a premium Chromebook with half of its competitor’s price. If you don’t plan on using it for gaming or heavy tasks you’ll be pleased with its performance. The ASUS C302CA has an all-aluminium build with an anodized finish that provides its clean and practical aesthetics. And when it’s folded it’s symmetrical as well and looks attractive in both modes.
I especially like the hinges on the laptop that was multi-gear with a metal mechanism. Giving it sturdiness and allowing for a smooth transition. The ASUS C302CA weighs just 2.6 pounds and it’s one of the lightest Chromebooks on the market coming in second just as Samsung’s model.
Because of its weight, it’s a joy to use in tablet mode, unlike some heavier models. It’s really a premium machine built like U2 while being an extremely portable device at the same time. Interestingly enough, this laptop had an excellent keyboard with 1.4-millimetre key travel that’s perfect for an ultra-thin notebook.
The trackpad is unremarkable but it gets the job done. The battery life was also very impressive. Talking and astounding 10 and a half hours with continuous video stream testing.
The ASUS C302CA is equipped with a 12.3-inch FHD display with 1920 by 1080 resolution. That provides a very sharp image with tons of detail. It’s surrounded by slightly thick bezels but it is acceptable in its size and its touchscreen nature. And it’s the only caveat that this screen has. As it offers great popping colours that look natural performance-wise.
It’s equipped with an Intel SkyLake Core M hardware that’s available with m3 m5 and m7 processors. And in both 4 GB’s or 8GB’s RAM options. In a 64 GB’s of EMC storage by default so you can choose the performance that suits your needs and price. If you don’t require heavy performance you really can’t go wrong with the ASUS C302CA.
If you are looking for the best travel laptops in this price range. I will suggest you to instantly check this laptop. As it will never disappoint you.
At number four it’s the Lenovo IdeaPad 330S. Buying a laptop when you have a relaxed budget is pretty easy. And most of those machines provide good performances and you really can’t go wrong. However, it’s challenging to pick windows laptops at under a $500 price. Which is a price most set for buying laptops.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 330S is an excellent option with a 15.6-inch screen, beautiful design, decent battery life and good typing experience. This package is perfect for budget-conscious buyers. Lenovo has achieved a good design reputation for making this laptop look and feel premium. While keeping the prices extremely low.
The whole device is covered with a matte silver finish all around. The lid, the underside deck, the complete package, except the dark grey Lenovo logo on the lid. And the keyboard is plain but it does look good. And if the looks don’t grow on you it does compensate by providing an excellently sturdy chassis built with aluminium on the lid and deck.
And strong plastic on the underside and as a result of this. It’s slightly heavier a 3.9 pounds. But it’s still lighter and smaller than its rivals measuring just 14 by 9.5 by 0.8 inches, making it extremely portable. the Lenovo IdeaPad 330S comes with a 15.6-inch panel with 1366 by 768 display.
The colours were excellent and popping as it managed to reproduce a hundred and six per cent of the RGB colour. However, the brightness was a little too dim for its price. Averaging just 215 nits of brightness at its max.
Overall I’d say that this is a great display with powerful colours. This windows laptop comes equipped with an Intel Core i5 8250U CPU and 8GB’s of RAM. With an additional 16 GB’s of intel octane memory and 1 TB of HDD. These specifications make this laptop a pristine package.
You’ll notice during use that it won’t slow down and will prove an excellent productivity tool in the graphics department. It’s armed with an integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics card but this isn’t adequate for gaming. If I have to list a con about this excellent budget windows laptop. I would have to put its battery life as it doesn’t come near its competitor’s number. Other than that it’s pretty close to perfect.
And number three it’s the Lenovo Flex 11. The best mid-range option on our list, the features and Performance Pack. Its is also one of the best Two-in-one Windows laptops under 500.
You won’t have to compromise for build quality, performance and features. As it provides a well-rounded package that will please every user and it’ll be a great productivity tool for office dwellers.
The Lenovo Flex 11 does have a flashy design. Its designers have gone with a minimalist and utilitarian choice with a two-tone flat body, made from plastic. With silver accents scattered around the body. It still looks very attractive on the lid of the device. You’ll only find the Lenovo logo on the top left and the lid connects to the body with aluminium hinges. That convert the laptop to a tablet excellently the 11.6 inch IPS touchscreen.
Display of the Lenovo Flex 11 is coupled with some thick bezels but it also provides 1366 by 768 resolution that offers plenty of detail reproduction. However, I have to state that the display lacks a little in the colour reproduction as it was capable of reproducing just 71 per cent of the RGB colour.
On top of that, it could achieve an average of 206 nits of brightness, and it smacks the touch screen. It is very responsive, and it responded to commands and was very quick altogether performance-wise.
The Flex 11 offers pretty good performance for its price. Equipped with the Intel Pentium Silver N5000 processor. With 4 GB’s of DDR4 RAM and 64 GB’s EMC storage. It proved to be an excellent performer with that processor. As it didn’t lag in everyday tasks. It performed pretty well for its category in the synthetic benchmark tests for overall performance. The 64 GB’s EMC proved to be speedy.
And the Intel UHD graphic 600 was equally good for its price.
The Lenovo Flex 11 offered great battery life under a $500 package. Averaging about 9 hours with moderate use. Meaning that you won’t need to pack the charger in your bag for the typical day in the office furthermore. The keyboard is pretty well designed and the trackpad was equally pleasing.
A very well rounded package at number 2. It’s the HP Pavilion x360. The HP Pavilion x360 is an excellent convertible 2 in 1 laptop that has an attractive design and an equally attractive price tag. Combined with its good performance as both a tablet and a laptop.
Almost full-size keyboard and build quality that’ll last years. The HP Pavilion x360 has checked all the features that a budget two-in-one Windows laptop should have.
The HP Pavilion x360 looks very clean due to its matte metal finish that also gives the laptop its premium look, without the price to correspond. In the middle of the lid, you’ll spot the large HP logo that’s detailed with a chrome finish. The undersigned is built from plastic and it’s mostly empty except some small holes for ventilation the package.
It is very compact and portable weighing just 1.6 kilograms. That makes it easy to carry even with one hand. There’s a chrome finish also on the hinges of the laptop, that I appreciated because it gives some Flair to the device.
The HP Pavilion x360 comes equipped with a 14 inch full HD IPS touchscreen panel with a glass coating the touch screen. It worked pretty well as it could support multiple fingers and any sinus that you should choose.
The image on the screen didn’t appear as colourful as expected it had some dullness to it. However, it was extremely sharp with plenty of details and had achieved plenty of brightness.
I’d like to mention the excellent keyboard of this laptop. As it is pretty good and had a great key spacing between the backlighting. But the trackpad was just a simple mediocre one.
This laptop comes equipped with an Intel Core i3 8130U with a boost clock speed of 3.4 gigahertz. 8 GB’s of RAM and 128 GB’s of SSD which makes it a small powerhouse. As it can plough through everything in its way. And will provide excellent productivity.
As a two-in-one in its class, if the performed above average in the tests. And I was pleased with his overall performance.
The battery life for the Pavilion x360 is also impressive about 9 hours with moderate use. And it averaged eight hours with continuous video streaming. One of the best 2 in 1 laptop with windows in this nominal price range.
At number one it’s the Acer Aspire a 15. The top windows laptop under 500 dollars. The Acer Aspire a 15 is the definite best all-around Windows laptop under the $500 price. Because it’s excellent and doesn’t make you compromise, and this is a very rare thing in today’s competitive market.
It’s the definite best in its class with amazing performance, 15-inch screen with great detail, adequate battery life and the ability to stay cool under heavy tasks. It definitely doesn’t get better than this.
The Acer Aspire 15 lies way above its weight class. The Acer Aspire a 15 is not the most attractively designed laptop in the market. But it’s not hideous either, it has a very simple design. And has a brushed metal look on its lid. It is slightly bulky.
Thanks to its chunky plastic chassis that does wonders for keeping the device cool. It weighs 5.7 pounds and it’s 1.2 inches thick. While it may not be the most compact. It’ll be excellent for the office.
It’s also worth stating that for the price it has a great number of connectivity ports. The Acer Aspire 15 has a decent 15 inch non-touch IPS display that manages to reproduce sharp details. Thanks to its 1920 by 1080P Full HD resolution. The display is solid all around and it was capable of producing above-average brightness from its competition.
The keyboard was rather good for typing with good spacing between the keys. Which was not expected due to the Numpad. The trackpad was remarkable with good response and adequate size performance.
Where the aspire e15 equipped with the most with an eighth-generation Intel Core i3 8130U CPU 6 GB’s of RAM and 1 TB HDD. It has handled most of the test with no signs of slowing down. It comes equipped with an Intel UHD graphics 620 GPU. That has scored 63,807 on the ice storm unlimited traffic stress test. It is really a solid number considering its class.
BEST ALL-ROUNDER LAPTOP UNDER 500
The Acer Aspire E 15 had a great battery life of 8 hours of moderate use and it’s a solid machine, all-around. That will justify every single cent of its price.
